“Churches Doing More Together”Since 2010 Arkansas Baptists across the state have partnered with local associations each year to impact lostness across the state. Individual church members from many cities descend on a single location and engage in ministries that include prayer walking, evangelism, children’s activities, block parties, home repairs, health/dental clinics, yard work, multi-housing ministries, and many more.(Excerpt from http://www.absc.org/ministries/acts-18-one-day-mission-trip/)This event has become the highlight of the year for many people across our state and the life-changing impact of the Acts 1:8 One Day Missions Trip has become so apparent that several Baptist Associations are now sponsoring their own ‘Beginning in Jerusalem’ type one-day mission event. “ARVBA Day” is the name we have given to ours and we are excited about the prospect of our sister churches coming together to ‘impact lostness’ in specific parts of our Association. ‘Region One’ was the designated area for our first event and our churches sent more than 110 of their members to help Danville, Ola, Rover, Havana, Plainview and Bellville reach those communities with the Gospel. In 2017 almost as many gathered to help the congragations of ‘Region 5’ (1st Atkins, 1st Pottsville, Crow Mountain Baptist, 1st Moreland, 1st Hector and Hopewell Baptist Church) do the same thing! On April 9th, 2022, folks from all (or at least most) of our Association churches will once again again come together for an action packed, ministry infused, Holy Spirit anointed one-day missions’ emphasis. Our Missions Team has identified ‘Region 4’ as our next ministry target and we are excited about the Association coming together to to help the churches in that area effectively reach their respective communities with the Gospel. In many ways ARVBA Day is patterned after the Acts 1:8 One-Day Mission Tripsponsored by the Arkansas Baptist State Convention. Teams are formed from all of our participants to work/engage in whatever ministry opportunities the area churches have discovered. You will be able to list your top three choices from the ministries we will be providing so getting to do the stuff you love shouldn’t be a problem. The list below is just a sample of the ministries you may be able to take part in and the ‘official list’ can be viewed from the sign up page: (please note that we are still putting that list together so check back often before you make your final choices!)•Block Parties & Kids activities•Prayer walking/driving•Mowing/yard work•Light construction (Home repair, painting, etc)•Door-to-door visitation•Meal Prep for the folks•Meal deliveries for the separate sites•And others we may discoverCOST AND AGE GUIDELINES: We want ARVBA Day to be a family friendly event where everyone can experience the joy of doing ministry together. To that end, we encourage parents/guardians to bring their children and teens with them when they come. (Please use your best judgment when considering very small children!) There are a couple of guidelines we ask you to follow. All participants under age 18 must have the Minor Permission Form filled out and returned.
