“Understanding The Call to Pastoral Ministry” September 5th & 7th The ARVBA will soon host our first ever “Is God Calling Me?” retreat. Pastors are encouraged to identify, and invite, men in their congregations who may be experiencing a call to vocational ministry to join us for this special event. The main focus of discussion will revolve around the specific call to pastoral ministry but other ministry callings will be addressed as well. Join us as we gather at Spring Lake Camp & Retreat Center to talk things over. Jeremiah 3: 15 “Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you on knowledge and understanding. Ephesians 4: 11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; Possible Discussion Topics What does it mean to be called to pastor? Is it different than being called into ‘the ministry’? How can I know if I am being called to pastor? We will begin with a cookout on Friday evening followed by a time of discussion with pastors and those who may feel a calling into the pastoral ministry. Free time will follow and can be used to deepen conversations, pray with fellow ‘called ones’, get alone with God, etc. Saturday will begin with breakfast and free time. Last discussion will begin at 10 o’clock or so and will conclude as soon as lunch is ready. The men may leave before or after lunch but are free to enjoy some extra time in the quietness at Spring Lake if they would like. This event will be held at Spring Lake Camp & Retreat Center and interested parties may preregister by clicking here OR on the “Am I Being Called” picture above. There is no cost for this retreat
